Sparx Maths
Sparx Maths learns about each student to tailor their home learning to their current understanding and ability levels. It has videos to support learning and tests students on recent topics they have studied, as well as getting students to revisit concepts they have learnt earlier in the year. Because Sparx learns about each student and personalises their homework, students should expect to find their homework accessible, but with the right level of challenge as it gets to know them. Therefore, students should be aiming to achieve 100% on each task that is set.
Every week, students will have a home learning task set on Sparx that they can expect to take approximately 60 minutes. Sparx Maths will be due on Wednesday of every week.
Logging in to Sparx. At https://sparxmaths.com/, students choose the ‘student login’ in the top righthand corner.
Students are then prompted to select their school. The easiest way to do this is to type in the school postcode and then select Poynton High School.
Year 7 students can use the button, and use their username and password that they use to log in to the school computers.
Year 8 – 10 will need to log in using their Sparx login. Their username will be their first name, followed by their surname, all one word and lower case. For example, Joe Bloggs will have the username joebloggs. Students will have set their own password when they first signed in, but if they forget it they can click the Forgotten Sparx login details? button and their teacher will be notified and be able to reset their password.
