Students make their mark!

On 11th February, Poynton High School students cast their votes in the Youth Parliament Elections. Year 7-9 students completed an online ballot, whilst Year 10-13 students posted their entries at our polling station by main reception.  Though remaining votes are yet to be counted, it is indicated that our students have chosen Oliver Probert-Hill as their representative. Oliver plans to focus on promoting equal rights and ending poverty. Our students have also selected Poverty (particularly Child Poverty) as the topic that they most want debated in parliament. Cheshire East Council will announce the overall result in March.

We thank all students involved. You can find out more information on the UK Youth Parliament here: https://www.byc.org.uk/uk/uk-youth-parliament
